The Bolivar American Legion  "Charles Sutton Post 0128" was built around 1923 in memory of Charles Sutton, a war hero of World War I.  Located at the corner of 3rd and Market Steet the Legion is known for its charity auctions and basket parties to raise funds for the community.  Occasional bands or other entertainment rock the Legion halls to help Veterans and their families.  The upstairs "Hall of Fame" for the Vet's, houses many photos, memorabilia, and awards that have been either won, or donated throughout the years by the Veteran's families.  Many local hero's have lost their lives from the different wars and conflicts.  The American Legion is proud to honor those and to help out the families and community in every way possible.
