Ordinance # 060

Parking Regulations

in Borough


Prescribing Parking Regulations within the limit of the Borough of Bolivar and providing for penalty for violation thereof.

Be it enacted and ordained by the Borough of Bolivar and it is hereby enacted and ordained by the authority of the same.

Section 1. That Lincoln Street within the Borough of Bolivar from the point of intersection of said street with Second street in said Borough, in a northerly direction to the underpass beneath the Pennsylvania Railroad Company right-of-way is hereby made and designated as a no-parking zone, and it shall be unlawful for any person to park or cause to be parked any automobile, vehicle, or conveyance of any kind on either side of said Lincoln Street between the points hereinabove designated.

Section 2. that it shall be unlawful for any person to park or cause to e parked any automobile, vehicle, or conveyance of any kind within fifteen (15) feet of any street intersection within the limits of the Borough of Bolivar.

Section 3. That all zones within the limits of the Borough of Bolivar in which parking of automobiles, vehicles, or conveyances of any kind shall be restricted or prohibits shall be designated either by regulatory signs erected within such zones, or by the curbs of the streets in such zones being painted yellow, or both , as shall be from time to time designated by Resolution by the council of Bolivar Borough.

Section 4. That the Council of Bolivar Borough is any regular or special meeting may from time to time be Resolution, change, alter, or amend the parking regulations and restrictions within the limits of Bolivar Borough as said Council of Bolivar Borough in its own discretion may deem necessary and proper.

Section 5. That any individual owner and / or operator of any automobile, vehicle, or conveyance of any kind who shall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance or any of the regulations or restrictions which the council of Bolivar Borough from time to time may pass by Resolution, under the provisions of this Ordinance shall upon conviction before the burgess of Bolivar Borough be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $1.00 nor more the $15.00 and costs for each offense, and in default of said fine, be committed to the county jail for a period not exceeding five (5) days.

Section 6. That all Ordinances or Resolutions or parts thereof inconsistent herewith, be and the same are hereby repealed.

Original Ordinance in ordinance book page 91

Note: Section five Ordinance # 60 entered under the Provision of Resolution of Council on the 6th day of February 1984, to increase fine for Illegal parking in Bolivar Borough from $15.00 to $25.00. Also require all vehicles licensed by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Harrisburg PA must display current license plates and inspection stickers.

Resolution of February 6, 1984 the following was adopted and approved.

Be it resolved on this 6th day of February 1984 under provisions of Ordinance #60 section (5), Parking Regulation within the limits of the Borough of Bolivar, Westmoreland County Pennsylvania to increase the fine from $15.00 to $25.00 for illegal parking in the Borough of Bolivar, Effective February 6, 1984.

To be included in Ordinance #60, Parking Regulations in the Borough and passed by Resolution by the council of Bolivar Borough, on this 6th day of February 1984.

Any automobile, vehicle, or conveyance, licensed by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Harrisburg Pennsylvania parked on the Borough Streets must display current license plates and inspection sticker,.

Under provisions of Ordinance # 60 section (5) can be changed from time to time by Resolution of Council

Resolution of March 4 1985

At a regular meeting of the Bolivar Borough Council held on March 4 1985 the following Resolution was adopted and approved.

Be it Resolved in hereby Resolved to amend Section five (5) of Ordinance # 60, Illegal Parking in the borough and setting cost of fines.

To lower fine for illegal parking from $25.00 to $15.00

Section (5) of Ordinance # 60 can be changed from time to time by Resolution of Council

Resolution of April 1 1985

At a regular meeting of the Bolivar Borough Council held on April 1 1985 the following Resolution was adopted and approved.

Be it Resolved, and is hereby Resolved to amend Section five (5) of Ordinance # 60 Illegal Parking in the Borough and setting cost of fines.

To lower cost of fines for illegal parking from $15.00 to $5.00

Section (5) of Ordinance # 60 can be changed from time to time by Resolution of Council.
